Clinical Application
Designed for controlled removal and shaping of bone, this Bruns curette is used to scrape cortical or cancellous bone, debride bony margins, and clear granulation tissue in confined operative sites. Common applications include otologic and skull-base procedures, neurosurgical bone work, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic cases requiring localized curettage, and removal of bone during graft harvesting or joint debridement.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.2 curette bowl provides a moderate, scoop-shaped cutting surface that balances capacity with access in narrow or deep fields. The supplied handle gives tactile feedback and leverage for controlled manual scraping and contouring; the 23 cm overall length extends reach to deeper cavities while maintaining hand control at the proximal end. The curvature and rim design concentrate cutting force at the bowl edge to permit efficient bone removal with minimized disruption to adjacent soft tissue.
