Clinical Application
Designed for gynecologic procedures, this forceps is used to grasp, occlude, and stabilize uterine pedicles, ovarian ligaments, and associated pelvic vasculature during hysterectomy and related open gynecologic operations. Its reach and curvature facilitate secure clamping for ligation or division of tissue and provide effective hemorrhage control in deep pelvic anatomy.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry and 24 cm overall length provide extended reach into the deep pelvis while allowing the jaws to align with pedicles and vascular bundles along the uterine axis. Ring handles with a locking ratchet enable controlled, sustained compression while freeing the assistant's hands. The Segond–Landau pattern is optimized to combine working length with an angle that improves visualization and access in confined surgical fields.
