Clinical Application
Designed for thoracic and pulmonary surgery, this Sarot-pattern bronchus clamp provides controlled temporary occlusion of bronchial tissue during procedures such as lobectomy, pneumonectomy, bronchial sleeve resections and airway repair. The instrument permits secure isolation of the bronchial lumen to control air leakage, create a dry field for anastomosis or suture placement, and protect adjacent tissue while intraoperative assessment or stapling is performed.
Design & Configuration
The straight geometry aligns with the bronchial axis for direct, predictable access in the mediastinum and hilum. A 24 cm shaft length gives additional reach into the thoracic cavity while preserving tactile feedback at the handles. The clamp’s jaw design is intended to distribute occlusive force across the bronchial wall to minimize focal crushing while maintaining secure closure. Ergonomic ring handles provide familiar control for one-handed positioning and manipulation in confined operative fields.
