Clinical Application

Curved Rochester-Ochsner forceps are intended for secure grasping and clamping of heavy tissue and vascular bundles where a firm, traumatic grip is required. Their design is commonly used during general, abdominal and soft-tissue procedures for control of bleeding, temporary occlusion of pedicles, blunt dissection and manipulation of dense tissue. The curved profile helps position the jaws around structures in deep or confined operative fields.

Design & Configuration

The curved shaft and jaw alignment provide improved approach angles in deep cavities and along curved anatomic planes, allowing the surgeon to reach around tissues while maintaining line-of-sight to the handle. Interlocking teeth combined with longitudinal serrations create a positive, traumatic grip on tough tissue and fascial planes. A standard box-lock and ratchet mechanism afford secure clamping with controlled closure force and reliable locking reproducibility during procedures.
