Clinical Application
Designed to provide reliable vessel control and tissue compression, this straight Pean hemostatic forceps is used to occlude medium to large-caliber vessels and to grasp and hold soft tissue pedicles during dissection and ligation. The 14.5 cm length balances tactile control and working reach, making it suitable for open general surgical procedures, ENT, OB/GYN, and trauma settings where firm, sustained clamping is required.
Design & Configuration
The straight shaft provides direct alignment between the user’s hand and the jaws for precise axial compression. The Pean-style jaws feature longitudinal serrations across the bite to distribute clamping pressure along the vessel or tissue, reducing slippage. A box-lock hinge and ratchet locking mechanism allow the instrument to maintain consistent clamping force without continuous manual pressure, freeing an assistant or enabling secure placement while tying ligatures.
