Clinical Application
Curved Pean hemostatic forceps are a general-purpose surgical clamp used to occlude medium to large blood vessels and to grasp or compress tissue during open procedures. At 16 cm length the curved geometry offers a balance of reach and tactile control for general surgery, trauma, gynecology, obstetrics and soft-tissue procedures where reliable vascular control or blunt dissection is required. The transverse serrations distribute clamping force to minimize slippage on vessels and tissue.
Design & Configuration
The curved shank provides improved line-of-sight and ergonomic access to vessels within confined fields compared with straight clamps, allowing the tips to be applied around pedicles or deeper tissue planes without excessive hand contortion. The Pean pattern features serrations across the jaw face to secure tissue along the biting surface rather than at a single point, supporting stable occlusion. A locking ratchet enables progressive, hands-free clamping during ligation or hemostasis.
