Clinical Application
Pean hemostatic forceps with short jaws are intended for secure clamping of medium-to-large vessels, tissue pedicles, and diffuse bleeding surfaces during open surgical procedures. The short-jaw geometry provides firmer bite and greater tactile feedback when ligating vessels or holding tissue in confined operative fields such as deep abdominal pockets, groin dissections, and soft-tissue procedures.
Design & Configuration
The Pean pattern features a broad jaw profile with transverse serrations across the clamping surface to distribute pressure evenly and reduce tissue slippage. Short jaws concentrate clamping force closer to the hinge, improving grip strength and allowing precise placement in limited-access sites. Ring handles with a ratchet locking mechanism permit hands-free retention of the clamp while sutures are placed or definitive ligatures are tied.
Instrument Specifications
