Clinical Application
Right-angle hemostatic forceps used to achieve hemostasis and to facilitate ligation or suture delivery around structures that are difficult to access in a straight line. Commonly employed in thoracic procedures for control of bronchial branches and pulmonary vessels, in mediastinal dissection, and anytime a suture or tie must be passed behind a vessel or duct within a confined operative field. Also useful in general and vascular surgery for deep, blind clamping.
Design & Configuration
The right-angle (Mixter) geometry redirects the working axis, allowing atraumatic approach to vessels and bronchial structures that lie orthogonal to the surgeon's line of sight. A narrow, angled tip facilitates placement around tight structures and between tissue planes while serrated jaws provide secure purchase for reliable hemostasis. The ratcheted handle maintains consistent clamping pressure, freeing the assistant or surgeon from continuous manual tension. At 22 cm overall length, the instrument provides extended reach appropriate for thoracic cavities and deeper operative fields.
