Clinical Application
This five-piece Macintosh blade set is configured to cover the range from neonate/infant through large adult airways. The Macintosh curved blade is used for direct laryngoscopy to facilitate glottic exposure and orotracheal tube placement by positioning the blade in the vallecula and indirectly lifting the epiglottis. A graduated set of blade sizes (#0, #1, #2 (90 mm), #3, #4) supports clinicians in selecting the appropriate geometry for pediatric, adolescent and adult patients, reducing the need for cross-instrument substitution during airway management.
Design & Configuration
The Macintosh curvature provides atraumatic passage into the oropharynx and a predictable fulcrum for indirect epiglottic elevation, improving line of sight to the vocal cords while minimizing soft-tissue compression. Detachable blades in a matched set allow quick size changes between cases and for difficult airway algorithms. Integrated fiber-optic illumination along the blade length provides even lighting of the hypopharynx and reduces shadowing compared with remote light sources, aiding visualization during intubation.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Macintosh curved laryngoscope blades (set)
- Pattern / model: Macintosh, fiber-optic (F/O/F)
- Configuration: Set of 5 detachable blades—sizes #0, #1, #2 (90 mm), #3, #4

Material & Construction
Blades are manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel for strength, corrosion resistance and compatibility with standard hospital reprocessing. Fiber-optic bundles integrated into the blade provide consistent illumination at the blade tip and along the oral cavity to reduce shadowing during laryngoscopy. Construction is intended for reusable clinical use with routine inspection of the fiber-optic interface prior to each procedure.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
