Clinical Application
This three‑blade conventional laryngoscope set provides the two most commonly used pediatric blade geometries for direct laryngoscopy: straight (Miller) blades for direct elevation of the epiglottis and a curved (Macintosh) blade for placement in the vallecula to indirectly lift the epiglottis. Sizes 0 and 1 Miller and size 0 Macintosh cover neonatal and small infant airway management in operating rooms, emergency departments and intensive care settings. The set supports clinicians who prefer alternate blade mechanics or who wish to have both straight and curved options available during induction and difficult pediatric airway cases.
Design & Configuration
Straight Miller blades provide a narrow profile and direct tip control to lift the epiglottis for a view of the glottic opening in very small patients. The Macintosh curved blade seats in the vallecula and aligns the oral, pharyngeal and laryngeal axes when used with appropriate head positioning. Offering both Miller 0/1 and Mac 0 in one set enables rapid exchange without returning to central storage and allows the intubator to select the blade geometry appropriate to anatomy and technique. Conventional blade mounting and distal tip contouring are optimized for atraumatic contact with pediatric airway structures.
