Clinical Application

Design & Configuration

The Macintosh curved geometry offers familiar anatomic contact points for tongue displacement while positioning the blade in the vallecula. A flexible distal tip gives the clinician the ability to dynamically modify tip angulation without changing blades, allowing targeted lifting or lifting of the epiglottis to optimize line of sight. Integrated fiber-optic illumination transmits light to the blade tip, improving visualization at the working edge rather than relying solely on proximal light sources. The #4 size is intended for larger adult airways where a longer reach and larger flange provide effective tongue and soft-tissue control.
