Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic probing and exploration, this double-ended buttoned probe is used to examine fistulae, sinus tracts, and narrow luminal passages; to localize and follow passages during wound exploration; and to guide sutures or drains through tissues without sharp penetration. The blunt, buttoned ends reduce the risk of snagging or inadvertent tissue perforation, making it suitable for procedures across general surgery, ENT, urology, gynecology, and wound-care settings where controlled blunt probing is required.
Design & Configuration
The D/E configuration provides two working ends so the clinician can reverse orientation quickly without repositioning the instrument or patient. The buttoned tips present a smooth, rounded contact surface that distributes pressure and minimizes focal trauma when negotiating delicate tracts. An 18 cm shaft length gives sufficient reach for deeper cavities while retaining tactile feedback for the operator. The straight, low-profile shaft facilitates passage through narrow channels and improves visualization in confined operative fields.
