Clinical Application
This double-ended buttoned probe is intended for atraumatic exploration and negotiation of small lumens, fistula tracts, ostia and ducts. The rounded 2 mm buttoned tips provide a blunt contact surface for assessing patency, defining tract direction, guiding the passage of suture, guidewires or small catheters, and performing delicate blunt dissection where sharp tips would risk tissue injury. It is commonly used in procedures requiring tactile feedback and minimal mucosal trauma.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration provides immediate alternate working ends without instrument exchange, improving procedural efficiency. Buttoned (rounded) tips minimize tissue snagging and reduce the risk of perforation when probing delicate mucosa or confined channels. The 12.5 cm shaft length offers reach into superficial to moderately deep tracts while maintaining control and tactile sensitivity at the tip.
