Clinical Application

Designed for use in open biliary and general surgical procedures, this Pratt cystic hook provides focused retraction and elevation of the cystic duct and gallbladder to expose Calot's triangle and enable safe dissection during cholecystectomy. The slender hooked tip permits atraumatic engagement of ducts and soft tissue, improving visualization of the cystic duct–artery relationship and facilitating precise dissection and clipping.

Design & Configuration

The Fig.3 Pratt geometry features a refined curved hook at the distal end and a slim shaft that preserves the operative field while delivering controlled traction. The 22 cm working length gives appropriate reach for open abdominal approaches while maintaining tactile feedback and instrument control. The hook's curvature is sized to cradle or elevate the cystic duct without excessive tissue bulk between the surgeon and the target anatomy, supporting safer identification of critical structures.
