Clinical Application
Designed to provide secure purchase on cervical or uterine tissue, this Pozzi tenaculum is used to establish traction and positional control during procedures such as IUD insertion, dilation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopy setup, cervical biopsies, and other gynecologic interventions. The pointed jaws permit reliable engagement of the cervix for manipulation, exposure, or counter-traction while preparing the uterine canal.
Design & Configuration
The ring-handle design with a box-lock ratchet allows the instrument to be locked in position to maintain consistent traction without continuous manual force. The tenaculum-style pointed jaws concentrate grip force to achieve a firm hold on superficial cervical tissue, enabling controlled manipulation and improved exposure of the operative field. The 25 cm overall length provides additional reach and leverage for use in standard vaginal procedures and when extra shaft length is beneficial for access or visualization.
