Clinical Application
Designed for controlled irrigation of the external auditory canal in outpatient and procedural settings. The syringe is used to deliver a directed stream of irrigation solution for removal of cerumen, granular debris, or small, non-impacted foreign material, and for canal cleansing prior to minor otologic procedures or microscope inspection. Care should be taken to avoid use when tympanic membrane perforation is suspected; warm the irrigation fluid and use controlled pressure to reduce patient discomfort and mitigate the risk of vertigo or iatrogenic injury.
Design & Configuration
The relatively large 200 cc reservoir reduces the need for frequent refilling during irrigation and allows longer, continuous flushing when indicated. The handheld design provides clinicians with tactile control over irrigation pressure and flow, enabling incremental adjustments to suit patient tolerance and the clinical situation. A focused delivery tip concentrates flow to help dislodge and mobilize cerumen and debris without excessive spread of solution.
