Clinical Application
Designed for use in abdominal surgery to provide temporary occlusion of intestinal segments during bowel resection, anastomosis and other procedures where containment of luminal contents is required. The clamp's crushing action permits secure closure of the bowel lumen proximal and distal to the operative site, reducing contamination risk and facilitating safe tissue handling during mobilization and transection.
Design & Configuration
The long 35 cm length gives extended reach for deep or obese abdomens and keeps the surgeon’s hands away from the operative field. The Payr crushing geometry concentrates compressive force along the jaws to occlude the lumen reliably while the included pin provides an option to secure the clamp in position for continuous occlusion. The overall layout supports one-handed placement and sustained closure when required during tissue division or stapling.
