Clinical Application
These forceps are designed to securely grasp tonsillar tissue for controlled traction and manipulation during tonsillectomy and other oropharyngeal procedures. The seizing jaws provide a firm purchase on soft tissue to facilitate exposure, dissection, and removal of tonsillar tissue, as well as placement of ligatures or instruments by the surgeon or assistant.
Design & Configuration
The long 20 cm shaft gives adequate reach into the oral cavity while keeping the operator's hands clear of the surgical field. Ring handles with a ratchet lock allow the instrument to maintain consistent grip tension without continuous manual pressure, improving ergonomics during prolonged steps. The seizing (toothed) jaw geometry provides secure hold on slippery tissue, minimizing slippage while reducing the need for repeated repositioning.
