Clinical Application
Provides controlled retraction of the ribs and chest wall to expose the thoracic cavity during open thoracotomy and other intrathoracic procedures. Useful for pulmonary resections, chest wall procedures and anterior thoracic access where stable, adjustable separation of the intercostal spaces is required.
Design & Configuration
Two blade widths combined with a 160 mm blade length permit staged, symmetrical retraction and improved exposure across a range of patient anatomies. A self-retaining distraction mechanism allows the retractor to hold a set separation without continuous manual force, enabling the surgical team to work hands-free and maintain consistent exposure. The geometry of the blades distributes pressure across the rib margins to reduce focal tissue stress during retraction.
