Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic retrieval of gallstones and stone fragments from the gallbladder, common bile duct or biliary tract during open biliary surgery and cholecystectomy. The scoop allows efficient capture and removal of free or partially mobile calculi after lithotripsy, irrigation, or ductotomy, reducing repeated instrument exchanges and minimizing direct grasping of ductal mucosa.
Design & Configuration
The distal bowl-shaped scoop geometry concentrates small and medium sized stones within a contained cavity for controlled extraction. A long slender shaft provides reach into the gallbladder fundus and deeper biliary segments while maintaining a low-profile shaft that facilitates access through an abdominal incision or ductotomy. Radiused edges on the scoop limit sharp contact with surrounding tissue and help reduce trauma to ductal and gallbladder mucosa during retrieval.
