Clinical Application
A right-angle Mixter forceps configured for gallstone work provides targeted access for biliary procedures. The angled jaws allow the surgeon to approach the cystic duct, common bile duct and gallbladder fossa from the side, facilitating grasping and manipulation of stones, placing traction on structures in Calot's triangle, passing sutures or ligatures around ducts and vessels, and assisting in common bile duct exploration during open hepatobiliary surgery.
Design & Configuration
The right-angle (curved) jaw geometry is designed to reach around and behind structures where straight instruments are obstructed. At 22 cm overall length, the instrument gives additional reach into deeper operative fields while keeping the surgeon's hands clear of the wound. The offset jaw permits lateral access for secure engagement of small, rounded objects such as calculi and for atraumatic retraction of ductal tissue during dissection.
Instrument Specifications
