Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic, sustained separation of the bladder neck and adjacent tissues during open urologic procedures. The spreader facilitates direct visualization and access to the prostatic fossa, urethral stump and surrounding anatomy for dissection, hemostasis and reconstruction in procedures such as retropubic prostatectomy and bladder neck repairs.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s elongated shaft and opposing blade geometry allow deep pelvic reach while maintaining a clear line of sight to the bladder neck. The spreading jaws deliver controlled lateral retraction to widen the surgical field without excessive tissue compression. A hand-friendly handle permits incremental control of spread and release, aiding precise exposure during suture placement and tissue apposition.
