Clinical Application
Bone files are used to refine and smooth osseous surfaces after osteotomy, sawing or trimming. This Miller pattern regular-cut file is intended for controlled removal of bone spicules and for contouring marginal bone to create a smoother, more regular surface prior to closure or implant placement. Common applications include trauma and reconstructive orthopedics, maxillofacial procedures, ENT exposure and bone work in neurosurgery where precise smoothing of sharp edges reduces soft-tissue irritation and improves implant seating.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended (D/E) configuration provides two working ends to extend reach and allow alternate hand positioning without exchanging instruments. Regular-cut rasp teeth deliver consistent, moderate stock removal while preserving tactile feedback for controlled contouring. The flat rasp surfaces are optimized to plane and smooth bone rather than gouge, helping achieve an even finish along cortical margins and around delicate anatomical structures.
