Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic handling of peritoneal and serosal tissues, this Mikulicz-style peritoneal forceps is used to grasp, retract and manipulate bowel, omentum and other delicate intra-abdominal structures during open general, colorectal and gynecologic procedures. The broad, fenestrated jaws distribute contact pressure to minimize focal trauma to the serosa, making the instrument appropriate for tissue handling and exposure rather than hemostasis.
Design & Configuration
The fenestrated jaw geometry provides a wide contact area that reduces point pressure on soft tissues, improving control while limiting crush injury. The 18 cm overall length offers tactile control and maneuverability in shallow to moderate-depth cavities—useful for pelvic and abdominal exposures where a shorter working length improves accuracy and handling. The scissor-style handles allow precise manual control for repositioning and retraction during dissection and reconstruction.
