Clinical Application

The Mathieu pattern features a two-blade (duckbill) geometry with an integrated ratchet that locks the blades at the desired opening to maintain exposure without the need for continuous manual retraction. The compact handle profile and self-retaining mechanism free the clinician's hands for specimen collection and instrumentation, while the smooth blade surfaces and rounded edges reduce mucosal trauma and patient discomfort. A multi-size set allows selection of an appropriately sized blade to match patient anatomy and the clinical task.
