Clinical Application
Designed to provide targeted suctioning of the oropharynx and upper airway during airway management, anesthetic induction/extubation, and ENT procedures. The small internal diameter allows controlled aspiration of secretions and blood in confined spaces, making it suitable for use during direct or fiber-optic assisted intubation and for clearing the hypopharynx prior to laryngoscopy or bronchoscopy.
Design & Configuration
The angulated Magill geometry aligns the suction lumen with the natural curvature of the oropharynx, enabling precise positioning without excessive manipulation of the airway. The overall length of 24.5 cm reaches the posterior oropharynx while allowing the operator to maintain a comfortable hand position outside the mouth. The proportionally small ID/OD provides controlled flow and improved maneuverability in tight spaces compared with larger suction catheters.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Magill-pattern suction tube
- Length: 24.5 cm
- Internal diameter (ID): 1.0 mm
- Outer diameter (OD): 3.0 mm
- Tip: open suction lumen for aspiration of secretions
- Typical use: airway and oropharyngeal suctioning during anesthesia and ENT procedures
Material & Construction
Constructed for repeated clinical use with medical-grade stainless steel to withstand routine sterilization processes. The rigid tube form preserves the angulation necessary for accurate placement while the smooth internal lumen facilitates efficient suctioning and cleaning.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
