Clinical Application

Provides direct visualization of the glottic inlet for orotracheal intubation and airway assessment during anesthesia, emergency airway management, and procedural sedation. The curved Macintosh geometry is used to engage the vallecula and indirectly lift the epiglottis, creating a line-of-sight to facilitate passage of endotracheal tubes and adjunct airway devices in adult and larger pediatric patients where a medium–large curved blade is indicated.

Design & Configuration

The curved Macintosh profile positions the blade tip in the vallecula to achieve indirect elevation of the epiglottis, minimizing soft-tissue obstruction and improving visualization of the vocal cords. Integrated fiber-optic illumination (F/O) provides bright, evenly distributed light along the blade flange to reduce shadows in the oropharynx, improving glottic view without relying on an external bulb at the handle-blade junction. The 123 mm length offers reach appropriate for medium–large airways while maintaining control and maneuverability during laryngoscopy.
