Clinical Application
This straight bone osteotome is designed for controlled cutting and shaping of cortical and cancellous bone. The 20 mm cutting width makes it suitable for medium-width osteotomies, creation of bone windows, removal of bone spurs, and contouring during orthopedic, podiatric, maxillofacial and reconstructive procedures. Used with a mallet or hand pressure, it enables precise transfer of linear force to perform osteotomies and to separate bone along planned lines.
Design & Configuration
The straight blade geometry provides a clear line of sight and direct force transmission to the cutting edge, improving accuracy for linear bone cuts. The F-handle configuration offers a secure ergonomic grip for single-handed positioning and predictable mallet strikes; the 22 cm overall length balances reach and mechanical leverage for common surgical fields. The 20 mm blade width gives a compromise between cutting surface area and precision for medium-sized cuts.
