Clinical Application
Small, round mirrors are used for indirect laryngoscopy and detailed inspection of the oropharynx and larynx. The 16 mm head is sized to permit visualization of the vocal folds and supraglottic structures while minimizing gag reflex and patient discomfort, making it suitable for office-based ENT exams, preoperative assessments, intraoperative adjunct visualization, and speech/voice clinic evaluations.
Design & Configuration
The compact, circular mirror head provides a focused field of view for direct visualization of the glottis and adjacent structures when positioned at the oropharynx. The Fig.3 pattern denotes the standard clinical profile for a small laryngeal mirror head; the reduced diameter improves patient tolerance and access in patients with limited oral opening. Supplied without a handle, the mirror head is intended for use with detachable mirror handles or dedicated holding instruments to allow flexible positioning during examination.
