Clinical Application

This adenotome is designed for the controlled excision of adenoid tissue during adenoidectomy procedures. Its profile and 25 cm length provide access to the nasopharyngeal roof from an oral approach, allowing the surgeon to core or shave adenoid tissue under direct visualization with a mirror or endoscope. The instrument is suitable for use in pediatric and adult ENT procedures where precise tissue removal with minimal collateral trauma is required.

Design & Configuration

The perforated Fig.1 blade geometry is intended to improve engagement and release of adenoid tissue during resection. The perforations reduce tissue suction/drag and help prevent clogging while allowing blood and irrigant to pass through the blade area, supporting a clearer field during sequential bites. The 25 cm overall length provides reach into the nasopharynx while maintaining tactile control for incremental tissue removal.
