Clinical Application
Used to establish and maintain a secure tracheal airway following surgical tracheostomy procedures. The curved cannula geometry positions the lumen in line with the tracheal axis to support ventilation, suctioning and pulmonary toilet in perioperative, intensive care and long-term care settings where a metal tracheostomy tube is indicated.
Design & Configuration
The Fig. 7 curvature follows the natural anterior tracheal contour to reduce mucosal contact pressure and optimize tube orientation for connection to ventilators or breathing circuits. An external neck flange provides a stable fixation point for sutures or strap-based retention, helping prevent displacement. The straightforward tubular geometry facilitates suction access and bedside care.
