Clinical Application
Krishaber-pattern tracheostomy tubes are used to establish and maintain a stable airway through a tracheostomy stoma. The 9 mm bore is sized for adult airway management applications including assisted ventilation, secretion clearance via suctioning, and short- to medium-term tracheostomy care. The tube supports routine post‑operative airway maintenance, weaning protocols when clinically indicated, and direct access for bronchoscopic inspection or suctioning when required by the care team.
Design & Configuration
The Fig. 5 Krishaber design features a curved cannula geometry that follows tracheal anatomy, helping to maintain axial alignment of the lumen and reduce angulation at the stoma. A low-profile external flange provides a reliable fixation point for ties or collars, improving stability and reducing movement-related trauma to the stoma. The 9 mm internal diameter balances lumen patency for ventilation and suctioning with an external profile suitable for stoma placement in adult patients.
