Clinical Application

This 4-prong sharp Kocher retractor is intended for manual retraction and exposure of wound edges, skin, subcutaneous tissue and fascia. The sharp prongs provide a secure grip on tougher, nonfriable tissues during general, trauma and orthopedic cases where sustained, controlled retraction is required. Because the tips penetrate superficially to secure tissue, it is routinely used for deep exposure and wound-edge control but should be used with caution on delicate or highly vascularized structures to avoid unnecessary tissue injury.
