Clinical Application
Designed for secure hemostasis and tissue control in open surgical procedures. The instrument's Kocher pattern provides a firm, locking grip on bleeding vessels, fascia, and other dense tissues where a traumatic clamp is acceptable. Common applications include general and trauma surgery, abdominal and pelvic procedures, and other cases that require reliable vessel control or tissue stabilization during dissection.
Design & Configuration
The curved configuration improves line-of-sight and access around structures, allowing the surgeon to approach vessels or tissue planes tangentially and maintain a clear operative field. The Kocher-style tip features serrations and an interlocking tooth at the jaw that engage tissue securely when the ratchet lock is applied, minimizing slippage under tension. The ratchet mechanism permits incremental closure and sustained clamping without continuous manual force, which is useful during suturing or vessel ligation.
