Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic exposure of the anterior trachea and surrounding soft tissues during open airway and head & neck procedures. The instrument is used to retract the trachea and adjacent tissues to improve visualization and working space for tracheostomy, tracheal repair, laryngectomy and other cervical airway surgeries. Blunt tips help minimize local tissue trauma while maintaining stable retraction.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended Jackson configuration offers two working ends in a single instrument, allowing the surgeon to choose the most appropriate orientation without exchanging instruments. A straight shaft of 18 cm provides reach into the operative field while keeping handles accessible for the surgical team. The blunt tip geometry is intended to spread and hold soft tissue gently rather than penetrate, reducing the risk of cutting or tearing delicate tracheal and pretracheal structures.
