Clinical Application
Designed for controlled cervical dilation and atraumatic uterine access, this dilator is used to gently dilate the cervical canal prior to diagnostic and operative intrauterine procedures. Typical uses include preparation for hysteroscopy, endometrial sampling, IUD insertion or removal, curettage, and other gynecologic interventions where precise, incremental dilation is required. The 1 mm size provides a fine gradation for stepwise dilation, helping clinicians achieve predictable canal access while minimizing tissue trauma.
Design & Configuration
The straight, tapered geometry provides a gradual increase in diameter to enable smooth passage through the cervical os. A polished, low-friction surface reduces resistance and potential trauma during insertion and withdrawal. The slender 1 mm profile allows the instrument to be used as part of a graduated set or as a fine initial dilator when delicate dilation is indicated. The Fig.1 pattern denotes the manufacturer's specific taper profile and handling form designed for controlled manual advancement.
