Clinical Application

This instrument is intended for controlled mechanical dilation of the cervical canal to a 12 mm diameter. It is used to establish or enlarge cervical access prior to intrauterine procedures such as dilation and curettage, operative hysteroscopy, intrauterine device placement, and other gynecologic interventions where passage of instruments or scopes requires a defined cervical calibre. The 12 mm size is typically used when moderate dilation is required or as one step in a graduated series of dilators.

Design & Configuration

The tapered, conical profile facilitates gradual tissue separation while minimizing focal pressure on the cervical os. A smooth, rounded atraumatic tip helps reduce the risk of mucosal laceration and false passage during introduction.
