Clinical Application
Provides direct visualization and access to the anal canal and distal rectum for diagnostic evaluation and minor procedures. Common uses include inspection for hemorrhoids, fissures, mucosal lesions, targeted biopsies, removal of small foreign bodies, and facilitation of hemostatic or local treatments performed through the instrument lumen. Sized to balance patient comfort with a working lumen suitable for standard proctologic instruments, it is appropriate for use in clinic exam rooms, ambulatory surgery centers, and operating rooms.
Design & Configuration
The rigid tubular geometry with an atraumatic obturator facilitates smooth insertion while protecting mucosa during entry. Once the obturator is removed, the hollow lumen provides an unobstructed view of the mucosa and a passage for biopsy forceps, suction, or other small instruments. The external flange allows reproducible depth control and stabilization during examination or interventions, reducing the need for manual retraction and improving procedural ergonomics.
