Clinical Application
Designed to provide a firm, penetrating grip on soft tissue during prostatectomy procedures and other deep pelvic or urologic operations. The vulsellum-style tips permit secure traction of the prostate capsule or other target tissues for exposure, dissection, and retraction. Also useful where controlled, single-handed tissue hold and retraction are required in gynecologic and general surgical cases. Careful use is advised on friable tissues to avoid tearing.
Design & Configuration
The instrument's vulsellum jaw geometry concentrates bite force at the toothed tips to produce a reliable, non-slip hold on soft tissues. Ring handles with a box lock and ratchet allow the surgeon to lock the instrument at the desired tension for sustained traction without continuous hand strain. At 23 cm overall length the instrument provides additional reach for deep pelvic fields while maintaining tactile feedback and precise control.
