Clinical Application

This dilator is intended for controlled progressive dilation of the biliary tree during open biliary procedures and trans‑cystic approaches. The 6 mm diameter is suitable for creating or enlarging an access channel in the common bile duct to facilitate stone extraction, passage of retrieval baskets or stents, and introduction of cholangiography catheters. Its 30 cm working length provides reach into the proximal bile ducts from a choledochotomy or cystic duct entry point.

Design & Configuration

A tapered shaft graduating to a smooth, atraumatic tip provides stepwise dilation to minimize mucosal trauma while allowing the surgeon to feel resistance and control advancement. The 30 cm overall length gives adequate working distance in standard biliary exposures without excess shaft slack.
