Clinical Application
Provides reliable mechanical depression of the tongue to improve visualization and access to the oral cavity, oropharynx, tonsillar pillars and upper hypopharynx during diagnostic exams, minor procedures and intraoperative maneuvers. Commonly used in ENT clinics, operating rooms and procedure suites for exposure during biopsies, foreign body removal, suture placement and intraoral instrumentation.
Design & Configuration
The flat paddle geometry distributes pressure across the tongue surface to minimize focal trauma while maintaining a broad field for visualization. At 16.5 cm overall length, the instrument offers extended reach for access to deeper areas of the oropharynx without excessive hand intrusion into the surgical field. Smooth, contoured edges facilitate atraumatic placement and retraction, while a slim profile allows concurrent use of suction, suction–irrigation or instrumentation alongside the depressor.
