Clinical Application
This curved bronchus clamp is designed to provide controlled occlusion of bronchial segments during open and minimally invasive thoracic procedures. It is used to isolate and temporarily occlude the bronchus during pulmonary resection, bronchial repair or stump management to reduce air leak and allow safe tissue handling while the surgeon divides, sutures, or staples airway structures.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry and 24 cm length provide reach and working angle needed within the thoracic cavity and between lung lobes, allowing the jaws to approach bronchial tissue around parenchyma and mediastinal structures. A ratchet-style locking handle provides positive retention of the clamp position so the device can hold tissue securely without continuous manual force. The curvature helps orient the jaw line to the airway axis for controlled occlusion with improved visualization for the operator.
