Clinical Application
Hooks for the Caspar retractor provide controlled engagement of the anterior vertebral bodies to maintain exposure during anterior cervical spine procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and cervical discectomy. When attached to the Caspar retractor frame, these hooks stabilize and retract soft tissue and provide purchase on the vertebral surface to facilitate disc space access, endplate preparation, irrigation, and implant placement.
Design & Configuration
The 70 mm length offers extended reach for anterior cervical exposures and improved clearance from the operative field, which can be advantageous in patients with larger neck anatomy or when deeper retraction is required. The hook configuration is designed to interface securely with the Caspar retractor system so the surgeon can maintain consistent retraction while working in the disc space. A defined hook profile provides stable engagement of the anterior vertebral cortex while minimizing displacement during manual or frame-supported retraction.
