Clinical Application
This single-hook retractor is intended for focused point retraction to expose wound edges and small soft-tissue structures during open procedures. The single hook engages and elevates skin, subcutaneous tissue, fascia or small vessels to create a clear working corridor without introducing a large profile into the field. It is commonly used in general surgery, ENT, plastic and reconstructive cases, minor orthopedic exposures and routine soft-tissue dissections where precise, localized retraction is required.
Because the hook concentrates force at a single point, it offers controlled tissue control but should be used with appropriate technique on friable tissues to minimize tearing.
Design & Configuration
The single-hook configuration provides a narrow footprint for unobstructed visualization and instrument access along incision lines. At 16 cm overall length, the shaft offers moderate reach suitable for shallow-to-moderate depth wounds while maintaining tactile control. The simple hand-held design enables quick placement, repositioning, and removal during operative steps that require intermittent retraction.
