Clinical Application
Used to achieve controlled, atraumatic cervical dilation prior to intrauterine procedures. The instrument provides a smooth, graduated increase in cervical diameter to facilitate safe passage of hysteroscopes, curettes, uterine sounds, or IUD inserters and to permit access for diagnostic or operative interventions such as dilation and curettage, hysteroscopy, and endometrial sampling.
Design & Configuration
The straight, tapered cylindrical geometry allows incremental radial expansion of the cervical canal with minimal focal stress. A blunt, rounded tip reduces the risk of epithelial tearing and perforation during advancement. The single-ended configuration offers a compact, easy-to-handle profile suited to procedures where a specific size is required rather than a double-ended graduated set.
