Clinical Application
This graduated set provides controlled mechanical cervical dilation for a broad range of gynecologic procedures. It is used to obtain cervical access for diagnostic and operative interventions including dilatation and curettage, hysteroscopy, intrauterine device placement or removal, and other procedures requiring atraumatic progressive dilatation. The full span from 4 mm to 17 mm supports small diagnostic openings through larger operative access sizes, enabling stepwise dilation under local, regional, or general anesthesia.
Design & Configuration
The instruments are solid, single-ended Hegar-style dilators with a smooth, rounded and gently tapered profile. The tapered cylindrical geometry permits gradual, uniform dilation while minimizing focal stress on the cervical canal and reducing the risk of tearing. Supplied as a set of 14 graduated diameters stored in a stainless steel box, the configuration facilitates orderly progression through sizes and secure organization within the sterile field.
