Clinical Application

This set provides a complete progression of Hegar dilators for controlled, serial cervical dilation. The instruments are used to gently and incrementally dilate the cervical canal to allow uterine access for procedures such as diagnostic and therapeutic dilation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopy preparation, uterine sounding, and other gynecologic interventions that require atraumatic cervical dilation. The full size range supports small pediatric/neo-cervical dilation up through larger diameters used in standard adult procedures.

Design & Configuration

The single-ended cylindrical geometry with smooth, tapered, rounded tips facilitates gradual dilation while minimizing localized pressure and tissue traction. A set of serially graduated diameters (1–30 mm) permits stepwise progression, providing tactile feedback to the clinician and enabling precise control over the rate and extent of dilation.
