Clinical Application
Provides atraumatic access and direct visualization of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane during routine otologic examinations, cerumen removal, diagnostic otoscopy, and minor in‑office procedures. The 5 mm aperture is intended for use in narrow-to-moderate ear canals where a smaller working diameter improves visualization and instrument maneuverability.
Design & Configuration
The Hartmann conical design features a smooth, flared rim that gently dilates the external canal while minimizing contact trauma. The Fig.2 geometry (5 mm aperture) balances canal exposure and instrument clearance, enabling precise introduction of suction tips, curettes, or microinstruments under direct view. The smooth internal bore reduces glare and facilitates passage of debris during removal.
