Clinical Application
Designed for otologic procedures and office ear care, this Hartmann-pattern ear catheter provides controlled suction and irrigation of the external auditory canal. It is intended for removal of cerumen, irrigation of debris and fluid evacuation during minor ear procedures, endaural cleansing prior to otoscopy or microscopic ear surgery, and for use in ENT clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospital ear suites.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.1 SP configuration features a rigid, angled shaft sized and shaped to follow the natural curvature of the external auditory canal, allowing direct access to the tympanic region with improved line of sight when used with microscopy or otoscopy. The open-lumen tip permits simultaneous irrigation and suctioning of fluids and particulate material while the smooth, atraumatic profile helps reduce contact trauma to the canal epithelium when advanced carefully.
