Clinical Application

Designed for controlled irrigation and aspiration within the external auditory canal, this Hartmann ear catheter is used in ENT clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and operative settings for removal of cerumen, small debris, or pooled fluids and for delivery of topical solutions. Its small-caliber profile supports use in narrow canals and in situations where a rigid, controllable instrument is preferred to flexible tubing—for example, during microscopic ear procedures, office debridement, or intraoperative irrigation.

Design & Configuration

The instrument’s single-lumen, rigid geometry provides direct transmission of irrigation and suction without kinking. Atraumatic rounded/beveled tip geometry reduces risk of canal or tympanic membrane injury while facilitating targeted fluid flow. The short, maneuverable shaft and hub connection allow precise positioning under microscopic or otoscopic visualization and straightforward attachment to standard irrigation or suction tubing or syringe devices.
